An X user posting as coolerwave says Claude Code found 14,219 photos of his face on his Android phone that he never took. He says the phone took them almost every time he picked it up.

He says they were real front-camera frames, not screenshots, stored in a system cache with timestamps and GPS, and missing from his gallery. After backing up the phone, he asked Claude Code to look for front-camera files that weren't in his photos. He says it pulled a face unlock cache folder and another inside Google Play Services. These are his claims and haven't been independently verified.

Why it mattersThe post struck a nerve about what phones store quietly. It also shows people using coding agents to dig through their own devices.
