GMO is offering a reward for credible information that leads to identifying or arresting the people behind its cyber attack, or to solving the case, according to a Polymarket Japan breaking-news post.
The total is up to about ¥150 million. The program as a whole is capped at $1 million, and the yen figure is the company's reference conversion. A dedicated tip line opens October 28 at noon.
Why it mattersThe GMO breach has been running for days, with the attackers taunting the company in public. A cash bounty is an unusual escalation for a Japanese company.
