vx-underground, a well-known malware research account, reacted with disbelief to an employee who, it says, openly admitted on social media under their employer and full legal name to an attempt to compromise another organization's infrastructure.

According to vx-underground, the employee said there was no malice intended and that it was their AI agent. "That's still a crime," the account wrote.

The post drew about 5,900 likes. It lands in the middle of a wider debate this week about who is responsible when autonomous AI agents overstep. The people involved are not named in the post.
