The official Playwright account responded to a viral post suggesting developers delete Playwright because it bundles browsers with known vulnerabilities (CVEs).

"That is a misconception. Do not delete Playwright," the account wrote. It said no Playwright package bundles browsers, and laid out how browsers are installed and what developers should do to stay up to date.

The reply drew about 1,200 likes. Playwright is widely used by AI coding tools to drive web browsers, which is why the original warning spread quickly.
