Don't delete Playwright: a viral Claude Code prompt to clean up old Chromium builds (Security & hacks)

After warnings that Playwright bundles old Chromium builds with known CVEs, developer Dave Deguzza (@dave_deguzza) posted a different approach: "Don't delete Playwright. Paste this into Claude Code instead."

His prompt asks the agent to find Playwright and Puppeteer browser caches, delete Chromium builds older than a set version, change the Playwright MCP config to use the auto-updated system Chrome with a sandbox, and check Electron apps for their Chrome version.

The post drew about 1,600 likes. It is one developer's prompt, so review anything that deletes files before running it.
