A NordicTrack treadmill owner wanted to watch Netflix on its large screen, an option locked behind a $39-a-month iFit membership, according to a post from Trung Phan.

Claude worked out that the screen was an Android 9 tablet and found that iFit's motor service runs a small server on the console that apps can talk to. It disabled iFit's apps one at a time, and the fix was removing iFit's lockdown and updater app for the user, which the post describes as reversible.

With that app gone, the treadmill boots unlocked and the owner can watch Netflix and Crunchyroll without paying for the membership, the post says.
