Unreleased Claude model built a remote root exploit for Linux
Debian has a fix. Ubuntu and Red Hat do not yet.

An unreleased Claude model turned a Linux kernel bug into a remote root exploit, International Cyber Digest reports.
According to Anthropic, the exploit runs commands as root on servers that have a multipath TCP listener, and no login is needed.
Debian shipped a fix on October 16. Ubuntu and Red Hat still lacked a patch at the time of the report.
