Binance CEO says the hack began with one engineer's compromised laptop
Richard Teng says user funds are safe and Binance will cover every loss.
Binance CEO Richard Teng said the company's early findings show the security incident may have started with a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop.
That access led the attacker to a service container, where they submitted unauthorized withdrawal transactions. Teng said it was a more complex, multi-step attack, not a one-click action, and that no individual has been blamed.
He said customer money is safe and that Binance is covering every loss.
