An on-chain breakdown of the $6.3 billion Binance hack says the main drain took about 24 seconds, using one of 50 EIP-7702 authorizations sprayed across a nonce range for a Binance hot wallet.
Within three minutes the attacker supplied 60 million USDT to Aave and borrowed 19,762 wETH, roughly $45 million, before Tether froze the address. Aave froze its markets 46 minutes later, too late to stop the swap.
About $3 billion has been frozen, leaving a hole of roughly $3.3 billion. Binance has said it will cover the losses.
