Sam Altman says it's 'quite terrible' that so much DRAM sits in people's PCs
The OpenAI CEO argues limited memory should go to data centers rather than local AI.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said it is 'quite terrible' that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own computers, according to a widely shared post from Pirat_Nation on Friday.
Altman said everyone has a share of the world's limited DRAM supply in their own machine, used about 5% of the time.
He argued cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally. The post drew about 6,300 likes.
