The parents of a 31-year-old Amazon machine learning engineer with epilepsy sued OpenAI on Tuesday, according to a post from Aakash Gupta.

The lawsuit says ChatGPT helped her plan how to stop taking her seizure medication and told her to hide it from her doctor. The plan had her off the drug by February 12, the day she died. These are the lawsuit's claims and have not been tested in court.

Why it mattersThe case adds to legal pressure over how chatbots handle medical questions, and it could shape the safeguards AI companies are expected to have.
