Google's own apps flop on its new foldable at launch
"Was it deliberate?" asks @thesamuelnam, with screenshots of apps that don't fit the screen.

A post from @thesamuelnam asked Google whether it was deliberate that none of its apps were optimized at launch, sharing screenshots of Google apps displaying poorly on a new foldable screen. It picked up roughly 6,700 likes.
Foldables and dual-screen phones use unusual aspect ratios, and apps must be updated to stretch or rearrange their layouts properly. When they aren't, users see squished, letterboxed or awkwardly stretched screens.
Why it mattersThe post hints at a platform-rivalry angle by asking whether the gaps were on purpose. Whether it is deliberate or just slow updates, day-one app support shapes first impressions of any new device, and users notice quickly when the apps they rely on most look broken.
