"CVE-2026-burnout": a fake advisory for exhausted security teams
A joke CVSS 10.0 for appsec professionals drowning in this week's RCEs.
@FelipeDaragon posted a fake advisory on Friday called "CVE-2026-burnout", describing appsec professional exhaustion with a CVSS score of 10.0. The post draws on this week's remote code execution bugs and zero-days. It drew about 980 likes.
It is a joke, not a real vulnerability, and no such CVE is being tracked. It resonates because several serious bugs landed in quick succession, according to other posts on the board.
Why it mattersIt captures the mood among security teams during a busy patching week. Humour like this tends to travel when the workload is real.
