Matt Pocock: for agents, code readability really means verifiability
Readability is now 'a nicety, not a necessity,' he argues.
Matt Pocock (@mattpocockuk) says it's time to rethink code readability. Humans are slow at reading large amounts of text, but agents read code differently, by poking at it and running parts of it.
He says readability now comes down to whether a human can jump in when needed, and whether the code uses the same domain language as the person describing it. For agents, 'readability' really means verifiability.
