Google launches a Gemini API CLI for the agents developers already use
It works with tools like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, and covers images, video, speech, music and research.

Philipp Schmid (@_philschmid) posted Monday that Google launched a Gemini API CLI built for the agent developers already use, naming Claude Code, Codex and Cursor among others. The post drew about 540 likes.
According to the post, the CLI can generate images, video, speech and music, analyze PDFs and YouTube URLs, transcribe recordings and run deep research. It is stateless and has no chat mode.
Why it mattersInstead of asking developers to switch agents, Google is offering its models as a command any existing agent can call.
